It’s supported by a powder-coated steel frame and has a U-shaped handle. Pull-up the handle, fill the hopper, set your adjustable gate and start spreading. 9-inch pneumatic tires provide traction on snow and ice and the adjustable baffles control your spread so you’re not going over on your lawn or other areas. The auger and gate work well with ice melt, halite and smaller particulates. This unit is not recommended for use with rock salt, sand, or sand mixes. Backed by Chapin’s 1-year limited warranty.

Auger is designed to work in forward motion. Excessive reverse motion could cause binding. If resistance is felt while pulling spreader backwards, stop and clear material from auger.
- Do not use with sand and sand mixes, lime and lime mixes, and rock salt
- Clean out your spreader after each use

Chapin has 4 levels of warranties on our products: 1 year, 2 years, 5 years, and limited lifetime warranties. Parts and certain accessories do not have warranties. Check our Warranty page for an explanation of each warranty level. Your warranty will be listed on your packaging and/or product manual. Please register your product after purchase to access your warranty.
NOTE: For all spreaders, improper use or failure to follow instructions can result in product failure or injuries. For safe use of this product you must read and follow all instructions before using.
- Empty hopper of any remaining material
- Thoroughly wash spreader, some ice melt products and lawn chemicals will cause rust if left in a wet stainless steel hopper (examples: magnesium chloride and calcium chloride)
- DO NOT spray directly into the gearbox, this can cause rust
- Use a standard garden hose, DO NOT use a power washer
- Allow to fully dry before storing
- Check tires for proper inflation after storing spreader for long periods (Inflate to 20 PSI)
If you have a pull up handle, fold it down for storage
If you have a grease fitting, apply general-purpose grease at least once a month
