Chapin’s 89400C professional turf broadcast spreader has a weather-proof, 1-piece hopper supported on a stainless steel frame. Spread comfortably and efficiently with a rubber-gripped T-handle and stainless steel linkage gate control. The rotary gate is adjustable to accommodate a variety of materials and is designed with a cast zinc-plated agitator to help prevent clumping. Chapin professional turf spreaders feature directional spread pattern control to ensure material is applied where it is needed. Stainless steel gears are enclosed to prevent debris interference. This heavy-duty turf spreader is equipped with rugged wide tread 12-inch pneumatic tires for professional use. This unit is not recommended for use with rock salt, sand and sand mixes, lime, lime mixes, and pelletized lime. Covered by a 5-year limited warranty.

Chapin has 4 levels of warranties on our products: 1 year, 2 years, 5 years, and limited lifetime warranties. Parts and certain accessories do not have warranties. Check our Warranty page for an explanation of each warranty level. Your warranty will be listed on your packaging and/or product manual. Please register your product after purchase to access your warranty.

NOTE: For all spreaders, improper use or failure to follow instructions can result in product failure or injuries. For safe use of this product you must read and follow all instructions before using.

  • Empty hopper of any remaining material
  • Thoroughly wash spreader, some ice melt products and lawn chemicals will cause rust if left in a wet stainless steel hopper (examples: magnesium chloride and calcium chloride)
  • DO NOT spray directly into the gearbox, this can cause rust
  • Use a standard garden hose, DO NOT use a power washer
  • Allow to fully dry before storing
  • Check tires for proper inflation after storing spreader for long periods (Inflate to 20 PSI)

If you have a pull up handle, fold it down for storage

If you have a grease fitting, apply general-purpose grease at least once a month

Only our battery-operated products include an SDS. This is specifically for the battery included with the unit. Chemicals are not included with any sprayer, spreader, or watering product. Always review the SDS that comes with whatever chemical or solution you’re spraying or spreading and consult with technical team if you have any questions. 1-800-444-3140, option 1.
